Margaret “Peg” (Asadoorian) Hovnanian, 88, of Methuen, Massachusetts, left us peacefully at the Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA on Friday, September 25. A life-long resident of Methuen, Peg was the daughter of Jacob Asadoorian and Alice (Tatoyian) Asadoorian. She was pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Jacob C. Asadoorian of Salem, NH.
Peg is survived by a brother, Ronald Asadoorian and his wife, Millie of Hatboro, Pennsylvania; two sons: Jay Hovnanian and his wife, Joyce of Methuen; Michael Hovnanian and his wife, Maureen of Methuen. Peg was the loving grandmother of Tracey Huberdeau of Methuen, Ted Sanborn Jr. of Danville, NH, Jonathan Hovnanian and his wife, Kendra of Prosper, TX, Jeremy Hovnanian of Salem, NH, Jamie Hovnanian of Methuen, and Michael Hovnanian of Methuen. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, three nephews, three nieces, many cousins, and two aunts.
After graduating from Methuen High School, Peg married and began her family. Peg cherished being a homemaker, mother and especially being a grandmother and great grandmother. Family dinners on Sundays were a norm, as well as regular get-togethers with her as-close-as-a-sister cousins. In later life, Peg lived with and cared for her mother, who would leave us at the age of 102.
There are no calling hours. A private graveside service and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Arrangements are by the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. To leave an online condolence, please visit Peg’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.
