Mama Pauline Enoh Obituary

Mama Pauline Tanyi Enoh – Upper Marlboro, MD

The Enoh’s family regret to announce the sudden passing to Glory of their beloved mother and grandmother, Mama Pauline Tanyi Enoh from a brief illness at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA on November 13th, 2022. Mama slept in peace in the hands of her children, grandchild, and son-in-law. She fought a good fight and decided it was time to rest eternally from this life.

Mama Pauline Tanyi Enoh was born in Bwinga, Tiko in Fako division, southwest province, Cameroon on October 28, 1948. She was the first child to late Pa Sam Ako Tiku Akpiri of Talangaye village and Mama Sussanah Agbor of Egbekoh, Ossing and Bachuo akagbe.

She was married to late Papa Zacharia Enoh of Shell, Tiko and had 12 children. She was called “mami plenty pikin” as in addition to her children, she had so many adopted and foster children who called her “Mami”. She was also known as Elder Pauline Enoh of Presbyterian church, Tiko where she served for several years. She was called “Ma’Pau international” for she loved beyond boundaries and brought a smile to anyone who crosses her path. She was love, gave love, and cared for every and anyone she meets. She was proud of her family, as a peace maker and embodiment of love, she never quarreled or fought with anyone. Though she had so many children, she made everyone feel special. She was an educator who taught her children and grandchildren to reach for the skies, a preacher who spoke of the Lord with passion, an evangelist who travelled from house to house visiting the sick and sharing the Gospel of Christ, a seamstress who made clothes for her family and friends, an advocate who fought for peace and justice, a farmer who cultivated okro, cassava and plantains, an entrepreneur who made soap and had a shop, a visionary who joined 9 others to form the Temple Choir Association, an administrator who managed her large family with love and dignity, a cultural lover who loved MOHWA and Ossing Associations, above all, a “Mother” who loved beyond herself.

She is survived by children, 25 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces and friends to mourn her and will forever miss her presence.

She was preceded in death by 2 of her sons, her beloved husband of many years, and younger sister. Her funeral and celebration of life is scheduled to take place on April 14th and 15th 2023 in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
