Leo G. Lacourse, 91, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen.
Leo was born in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late George and Imelda (Pelletier) Lacourse.Leo served his country with the United States ArmyAircorps in World War II as a military policeman. He was a very patriotic man and loved what the American flag stood for. Before his retirement, Leo worked for Watts Regulator and Craig Systems as a machinist.
Leo was a manager for the White Eagles Drum and Bugle Corp. and always enjoyed watching drum corp. competitions. For many years, Leo loved going on his annual trip to Laconia, NH on his motorcycle. He spent a lot of his spare time at the Lawrence Municipal Airport and going up for a plane ride any chance he got. Leo also enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans at the American Legion Post #122 of Methuen.
Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Barbara (Allen) Lacourse of Methuen, MA; his loving daughters, Mary B Thibodeau and her spouse Joseph of Salem, NH; Patricia Wolfe and her spouse Dennis of Sandown, NH; Janet D’Anna of Methuen, MA and Debra Lavoie of Wakefield, NE. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Leo was predeceased by his mother Imelda Martin, his brother Charles and son Michael.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral service will take place at 6:45pm.
Due to COVID-19, the family requests that face masks be worn and social distancing is required.
Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, Leo may be remembered through donations to the American Legion Post #122, 200 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
