Laurence “Larry” Lambert of Methuen, MA passed away at his summer home in Hampton Beach on December 3, 2024 at the age of 87 after a period of declining health. He was predeceased by his parents, Larry and Lena Lambert of Lawrence, MA, as well as his brother, Leon.
His family members include his beloved wife of 66 years, Sally (Mullen} Lambert and their three sons and their spouses, Larry Jr., and wife, Joanne of Lowell, Alan and wife, Nadine of Hudson, NH, and Stephen and his wife, Robin of Plaistow, NH. Larry was also the cherished grandfather of 13 loving grandchildren, uncle to numerous wonderful nieces and nephews, and great-grandfather to 16 “and counting” of the sweetest great-grandchildren.
Larry was born at home in Lawrence, MA on May 31, 1937. He attended Lawrence Public Schools before graduating from Central Catholic High School. After attending Merrimack College, Larry tried his hand at several occupations before attending the Andover Institute of Business to learn about a new business machine called the computer. He went on to use these skills for many years as an employee of Joan Fabrics in Lowell, MA.
Through the years, Larry was an avid supporter of many youth organizations including Cub Scout Pack 57 of Stephen Barker School and Boy Scout Troop 66 of Saint Theresa Church. When called upon, Larry was quick to volunteer as a coach or referee in community-based sports leagues. Larry was a lifelong sports fan who enjoyed watching the local teams win big.
Summer was always his favorite season because it brought with it the opportunity to spend time at his second home in Hampton Beach. The home allowed Larry to “cruise” the boardwalk, and to be surrounded by family and numerous friends who came to visit and perhaps play a game of 45's.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at St. Theresa Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. To Leave an online condolence, please visit Larry’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com.
