It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Laura and Michael Cote of Methuen, MA as a result of a drowning accident on Sunday, August 19, 2018. Michael and Laura will be remembered for their strong devotion to their families and faith. They were active members of the St. Francis Parish Community in Dracut, MA, and they touched countless lives in the examples portrayed in their daily lives.

Born in Cali, Colombia, Laura, 47, was a registered nurse and micro-biologist and worked many years at Lowell General Hospital, and recently at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Laura was educated in Colombia and the United States and received her nursing degree from UMass Lowell. For the past 25 years, Mike, 49, worked as a senior programmer at UniCare in Andover, MA. Mike was born in Lawrence, and was a graduate of Methuen High School, Class of 1987. Mike received his B.S. Degree in Computer Science from UMass Lowell.

Laura is survived by her father Guillermo Perez and mother Amparo Mosquera of Colombia, her brother William Perez and his wife Alicia Avendano of Watertown, CT and their children Gabriela and William, her brother Carlos Perez and his wife Yury Cruz of Watertown, CT and their children Ian and Joshua, and her sister Jennifer Perez of Colombia and her daughter Maria Antonella Arciniegas. Michael is survived by his parents Richard and Cecile (Menard) Cote of Methuen, his brother Brian and his wife Michelle of Haverhill and their children Matthew, Justin, and Sarah, and his sister Lynda and her husband Jim Carson of Methuen.

They will be sadly missed, but we take comfort knowing that they have been united with Christ in Heaven.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA 01826. Everyone, please meet at church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
