Keith Runge Obituary

Keith Runge – Milton, NH

Keith Runge, 67, of Milton, NH passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 21, 2024 after a brief, courageous, battle with cancer. He was well known for being someone who would drop everything to help anyone in need or to join anyone for a good time.

Keith was born on September 12, 1957 in Reading, MA to his parents, Carl and Marge Runge. He was raised with his brother Carl and enjoyed playing baseball and wreaking havoc with his friends. Most stories are not appropriate for publishing, but if you’d like to hear some, feel free to ask his friend Paul and the rest of the Reading crew for more details.

Keith met his wife Dodie in Reading when they were just teenagers and it was immediately evident that they were meant to be together and to take care of each other for life. They were married in September, 1982 and were days away from celebrating 42 loving years together. They lived in Methuen, MA for over 40 years, where they raised their two daughters. They were able to retire to Milton, NH in 2021 where they made their own little slice of heaven with wildlife, campfires, hot tub soaks, and endless hours with their grandkids.

Keith worked for over 40 years at Clean Harbors where he made many friends (and some sports enemies), but his favorite job of all, was being Bumpa to his three grandsons.

Everyone says to know Keith, was to love Keith. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and was able to revel in the smallest details that others may have taken for granted. He retained a tremendous amount of information, some of which may have been called “useless”, but he always seemed to find a use for it all. He could talk about an old sports story or a weird piece of history for hours. He was a true prankster and kept us laughing until the very end.

Keith had a lot of passions in life. He was able to find joy in so many things. Some of his favorite things were spending time with family and friends, watching his girls dance and grow up, “the boys” and all of their adventures, going for rides, camping, kayaking, snowmobiling, golfing, playing cards, muscle cars, going to the races, fishing, birdwatching in the backyard, going through memories and pictures for hours, saying “poop” all the time, absolutely annihilating the air guitar while listening to his favorite music into the wee hours of the night, and of course, The Dode.

Keith is predeceased by his father Carl Otto Runge, Jr., his mother Marjorie Etta Runge, his brother Carl Runge III, and his nephew Tyler Runge. He is survived by his best friend and soulmate of 42 years Deidre “Dodie” (Lucibello) Runge, his daughter Alana (Runge) Noonan and husband Ryan Noonan of Salem, MA, his daughter Kerri Runge and partner Tim Clapper of Portland, ME, and his three very special, very cherished grandsons, Lìr, Callan, and Declan Noonan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, family members and friends who loved him dearly. He will be endlessly missed.
