Joyce A (Dandreta) Peters

Joyce Anne (Dandreta) Peters, 83, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, with her daughters, Julie and Wendy at her side.

The daughter of the late John and Alvina (Karalunos) Dandreta, Joyce was born in Lawrence on November 29, 1938.  She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School, Lawrence and received her B.A. Degree in Education from Emmanuel College in Boston.  She owned and operated Julie and Wendy Convenience Store in Lawrence with her late husband.  She also was a teacher in the Methuen Schools System for several years.

The wife of the late Philip J. Peters, Joyce is survived by two daughters, Julie Drew of Gilford, NH, and Wendy Sonnenburg and her husband, Dennis of New Bedford, MA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.  Joyce will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen, MA.  Everyone, please meet at church.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.  There are no calling hours, but a Rosary Service will be held at church at 10:30 a.m. everyone is invited prior to the Mass.
