Joseph J. “Joe” Lee – Lawrence, MA

Joseph J. “Joe” Lee age 92, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was born on November 27, 1930, in Lawrence, the son of the late, Joseph P. and Mary (Maguire) Lee. He was raised and educated in Lawrence and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1948.

Joe was the owner and operator of Stylish Upholstery in Lawrence for 20 years. He worked as a project manager at Raytheon for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. In his retirement he also worked at Far Corners Golf Course in Boxford for many years. He was an avid bowler who was a huge Red Sox fan. He was the President of the Tower Hill Little League Association for many years.

He was a talented baseball player in high school and was on the Lawrence fast-pitch softball league playing for the Holihan’s Brewery at the Hayden Schofield Playstead for many years.

Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elaine L. (Orroth) Lee of Lawrence, his children, Jeffrey Lee and wife, Joyce of Lawrence, Wendy Lee of Lawrence and Gregory Lee and his wife, Cathy of No. Andover, his grandchildren, Brianna Hewson and husband, Paul of London, England and Keira and Colin Lee and his great-grandson, Elliott Hewson. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Caux, and is sadly missed by his cousin, Ned Joyce, and his wife Gerri, of Amesbury, MA, and cousin, Mary Hause, of Hingham, MA.
