Joseph “Archie” Arcidiacono, 89, passed away peacefully at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday October 31, 2024 of age-related issues.
Joseph was born in Lawrence on June 28, 1935. He was educated in the Lawrence School System. He worked as an Electromechanical Designer primarily with the design of printed circuits, and he was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served his country honorably in the US Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany for 2 years where he met his loving wife of 64 years. Joe was family oriented and enjoyed sports, music, being a couch potato, being a popcorn connoisseur, and drinking beer especially German beer. As a musician, he mastered several instruments and performed in local establishments for nearly 30 years.
Joe is survived by his wife Hildegard, his sister Rose, his son William and his wife Jessica, his daughter Diane and her husband Kurt. He also leaves 6 grandchildren Jared, Mitchell, Ryan, Shane, Dylan and Andrey as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by all.
Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
