With immense sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Jose Angel Alicea Jr. aka "J-BO, JJ, The Don" on April 26, 2026, at the age of 45. The most loving husband to Melissa, greatest father to Lulu and Koa, big brother to Vanessa and Felisa, and #1 son to Irma and Jose.
JJ was the most loving and devoted husband to his wife whom he always called his ride or die. Their love for each other will be forever, not even death can stop it. They were married for almost 20 years and together for 26, the best 26 years of their lives. Their love was unbreakable, through distance and time, it will never die. His love for her and his kids was felt by all when he spoke about them. His kids were his life and loved them with all of his heart and soul. He always said he would destroy the world for them and would do anything to protect them. He was so proud of his kids. They shared a love for music, anime, video games, and motorcycles. He was such a caring, loving, cuddly teddy bear with his kids. They were his "Mi Cielo". He was their rock. His strength, love, and knowledge will live on through his family. Age nor time, can't wither away his love for his wife and children.
He has made Irma and Jose the proudest parents in the world. Their undying love and teachings have taught him to love family unconditionally with everything he has. They are proud to have had him as a son and are so proud of the man he had become. His father will think of him every time he takes a ride. He was his riding buddy for life. His family will miss him with all of their heart and soul, and he will be dearly missed by all. He was always someone they could count on to be there for them. They will never forget all the happy moments and memories.
He was a true friend to many all around the world. He was known for his infectious laugh, unwavering integrity, honest to the core personality, strength, and his big heart. He is watching over all of us and will continue to help guide, protect, and love with all his heart just as he did in life. JJ will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He will be sadly missed, never forgotten, and will live on in our hearts and our memories. Losing him has been the hardest thing they have all had to go through. Their love for him and each other will keep them strong. May he rest in peace.
A gathering to honor him will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 9am to 12pm at the Spanish Assemblies of God Church, 20 Vine Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. The burial and laying to rest will take place at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence following the Funeral service.
