Joanne passed away on Sunday August 2, 2026 at Mass General Hospital Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loved ones. Joanne graduated high school from Methuen High. Early on in her life, she worked at a kiosk in the Methuen Mall doing ear piercings. She then continued her career working at a pet store and eventually became real estate certified and worked for Yameen Real Estate Company. Further on in life, she started a family and raised a son Jeremy, 30 and daughter Taylor, 23. She worked in several other areas including NRT Transportation in North Reading, had a rug-cleaning company with her husband, Gary, worked as an after-school director and substitute teacher in Lawrence and eventually became certified as a driving school instructor. After several years, she started her own driving school, Merrimack Valley Auto School, and became very successful and well-known throughout the area. Her hobbies and interests included boating, water-skiing, being at the lake and beach and loved going with friends and family to Music Bingo at the Claddagh Pub in Methuen with the occasional Keno-playing.
Joanne loved her cats, dog and all animals alike. She was an extremely kind, well-spirited and generous woman all throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Gary, her son Jeremy and his wife Sarah, her daughter Taylor, her father Roger Alley, and her sister-in-law Jean Carter and her husband Clay Carter and her nieces and nephews.
