Joan Wilson Obituary

Joan (Ford) Wilson – Lawrence, MA

Joan (Ford) Wilson, Age 82, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

Joan was born on May 30, 1939 in Lawrence, MA.  She was the daughter of the late, Julia and Edward Ford. Joan was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.  After graduating from Lawrence High School in 1957 Joan was a stay-at-home mother who selflessly raised her four children. In 1980 she began working for Schneider Automation (Modicon) until her retirement in 2003.

Along with her parents Joan was predeceased by her sister and brother in-law Theresa and Larry Moffett, her brother in-law Martin Kentigian, two nephews Stephen Moffett, Martin P Kentigian, and her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rose McDonald.

“When you hold someone in your Heart they are never gone”

Joan is survived by her Sister Pat Kentigian of Phoenix, AZ, her son Ronald Wilson and his wife Maureen of Methuen, and her three daughters; Kathleen McDonald of North Andover, Julie Gadomski and her husband Frank of Lawrence amd Shelly Rowe of Lawrence.  18 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Joan was an avid Red Sox fan and a dog lover who enjoyed every moment she spent with her loving and loyal dog Penny. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends playing cards or just sitting around her dining room table talking and laughing. Joan especially enjoyed spending time with her life long friend Jeannette at her camp in Salisbury Beach or on Sebago Lake in Maine with her friend Mary-Ann.

Joan would always open her home to anyone who needed a place to stay or a place to eat.  She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who cherished spending time with her family at holidays and family gatherings, creating wonderful memories.  She will be deeply missed by all.

The family would like to thank Elder Services of Merrimack Valley and Care Dimensions for their help and support during this difficult time.
