James Marchand Obituary

James “Jamie” Michael Marchand, passed away at the age of 54, on May 7, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. After a long courageous battle with cancer, Jamie showed his strength in facing life’s challenges with determination and a smile. Despite the pain, he was stoic till the end.

Jamie was born, raised, and resided in Methuen, Massachusetts.  He was member of the Sons of the American Legion and Order of Improved Red Men. He had a long career as a cdl driver and tow truck operator, driving for several local towing companies notably PST Towing, Martineau’s Towing, and Sheehan Towing. He enjoyed helping others and was known to make friends anywhere.

Jamie’s passion for fishing was only surpassed by the love of his weekends at camp. A fierce competitor in horseshoes, darts, and softball, he held many trophies. Jamie could be found dominating the horseshoe pits in the northeast with his father. Always the life of the party, he was often found around a roaring campfire surrounded by friends and family.  Jamie was known for his self-proclaimed skills on the dance floor, easy laugh, carefree personality, and heart of gold. One of his proudest moments and biggest accomplishment was becoming a father.

Jamie is predeceased by his best friend and father Arthur Marchand and brother Wayne Marchand. He is survived by his loving mother, Lorraine Marchand of Methuen, his cherished daughter, Shayla Marchand and fiancé Johnny Beavers of Texas, his supportive and dedicated siblings: John Marchand and wife Brenda of Exeter, N.H.; Diane Dougherty and husband Mark of Sandown, N.H.; Sheila (Marchand) Silva of Manchester, N.H.; Danny Marchand and Partner Tammy Barnes of Methuen, Ma.; Art Marchand and wife Cheryl of Methuen, Ma.; Randy Marchand of Port St. Lucie, Fl.  As well as his many adored nieces and nephews.
