James W. Fitzgerald

James W. Fitzgerald, 89 0f Methuen died peacefully on Friday May 19, 2023 at the Nevins Nursing and rehabilitation Centre.

James, born December 25th, 1933, grew up in Methuen and spent the majority of his life in the town he loved. He served as a boy scout from Troop 53, Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Methuen during his childhood and continued to serve on the council for years as an adult.

An avid car lover, he could often be found tinkering in his garage of chatling  with his sons and grandsons about their vehicles.

He worked at Brinks for over 35 years before retiring to enjoy more time at his beloved camp on Lake Ossipee and finish his mission to drive to every state except Hawaii and Alaska.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 69 years, his son James, Jr. and daughter-in-law Fran, son David, grandson Shaun and his wife Sabrina, grandson Jeff and his wife Tarah and his three great granddaughters Harper, Rhiannon and Aspyn. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Brenda.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday May 30, 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen.
