James Kenneth Chretien, 75, of Lawrence, passed away on October 9, 2021 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA.
Born in Lawrence on October 3, 1946, he was predeceased by his father, Leon Chretien, and his mother, Yvette Chretien, his brothers, Leon Chretien, Jr., Charles Chretien, his sister, Eileen Lannon. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked for the family masonry business for many years. Later, he began his own masonry business, where he continued to work with his son, James Jr. He enjoyed riding his Harley, travelling in his camper, and his four granddaughters. He was an avid Boston sports fan. He was a long-time member of the French Social Club of Lawrence, MA. He was a member of the VFW, Post 8349 in Methuen.
James is survived by his wife, Andrea E. K. Vannett of Lawrence, his son, James K. Chretien, Jr., of Salem, NH, his son, Thomas Chretien and his wife, Brenda Chretien of Moultonborough, NH and Ft. Myers, FL; granddaughters, Marissa Chretien, Sydney Chretien, Karleigh Chretien and Alivia Chretien; his sister, Claudette Paris of Ellenton, FL; his brothers, Dennis Chretien and his wife Sue Chretien of Methuen, Gary Chretien and his wife Carolle of Salem, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will take place Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 at 12 Noon.
