Iris C. Hernández was born in the Province of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; however, she grew up and spent the vast majority of her life in the City of Santo Domingo, National District, before emigrating to the United States in the year 2000. She is the second daughter of 6 siblings from Diogenes and Aura Francisca Castillo.  She was married from 1977 and until her death to Cesar Hernández.  This marriage apart from bringing happiness and love for just over 45 years, produced 4 children: Massiel; Cesar David; Irene; Cesar Jr. (Born in That Order) she went to school in her native country until she finished high school and then she dedicated herself full time to raising her children for the next 20 odd years.  Immediately after she immigrated to the USA, she worked full time in the same company until she retired.  Apart from being full of love and affection; Iris loved modesty, decorum, and simple things.  She was a conservative woman with very deep family values.  She loved to laugh, cook, please her family; and she also dedicated her life to making everyone around her feel that they were important, loved, and above all accepted.  What she emanated from her stay on earth was a unique nectar that even the most precious flowers do not possess.  She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed by all who survive her.
