In Loving Memory of Guillermo Enrique Rivera Pantoja

November 30, 1952 – November 10, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Guillermo Enrique Rivera Pantoja, who passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2025. Born on November 30, 1952, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of the late Guillermo Rivera Hernández and Margarita Pantoja Ortiz, and the second of six children.

 

Guillermo spent his early years in Puerto Rico, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and music. In 1986, he moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he met the love of his life, Elena Rivera. Together, they shared 40 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

 

Guillermo was known for his joyful personality, caring heart, and passion for salsa music, especially the songs of his favorite artist, Frankie Ruiz. His warm smile and kind spirit brought light and happiness to everyone around him.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Elena Rivera; his sons, Guillermo Rivera and his wife Selester Rivera of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Carlos Rivera; and his cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Joshua, and Sara, all of Elizabeth, New Jersey.

 

He is also survived by his brothers Miguel Rivera of Lowell, Massachusetts, and José Luis Rivera of Manhattan, New York; and by his sisters Edith Rivera, Lourdes Rivera, and Carmen Rivera of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Guillermo will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Texas, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico, whom he loved dearly.

 

Guillermo’s legacy of love, music, and laughter will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.

Calling hours are Friday, November 14, 2025 from 4-7 PM at Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 4:30 PM.
