Gina G. (Galluzzo) Garofalo

Gina G. (Galluzzo) Garofalo, age 87, of Methuen, MA died Monday, July 29, 2019 at Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on December 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Caterina (Scala) Galluzzo. She attended Lawrence schools.

Before retiring, she we employed at Bon Secours Hospital, now known as Holy Family Hospital.

Gina was active within her church as a member of St. Rita’s Sodality and the Blessed Virgin Sodality as a lifetime member of Corpus Christi Parish of the Holy Rosary Church of Lawrence.

She loved being with her family and playing Bingo, Po-ke-no, and LCR. She genuinely treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren above all else.

Gina is survived by daughters Catherine Ball, Marianne and her husband Thomas Rafferty, Gina Marie Garofalo, Elizabeth and her husband Paul Nolet, her sons Joseph Garofalo and David Garofalo and his wife Kelly, as well as nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sons Christopher and John Sebastian, and her sisters Marianne (Galluzzo) Brian and Clara (Galluzzo) Michalopoulos.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church – Corpus Christi Parish, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrence. Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 2nd, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
