Georgette R. Abdulla

Georgette R. (Khoury) Abdulla, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away while surrounded by her family on Friday, July 21, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Abdulla, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, and leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness.

Georgette was born in Lawrence on November 24, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Rose and John Khoury. She attended Lawrence High School in South Lawrence, MA, and married the love of her life, George, on February 12, 1952.

In 1962 Georgette, along with George, opened Abdulla's Bakery on Lawrence Street in Lawrence, MA. She worked tirelessly to support her husband and growing family. Georgette’s love for baking and cooking never ceased and her home was always filled with the aroma of her delicious treats and Lebanese cuisine.

Her joy knew no limits when it came to her family, her sons, and her six grandchildren. Affectionally and simply know as Situ, she cherished every moment spent with them. From endless stories to laughter-filled gatherings, she was the beacon of love and wisdom they looked up to.

Along with her devotion to faith and family, Georgette was otherwise best known to the outside world as a fixture of the Winnipesaukee Pier at Weirs Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia, NH, which she and George had owned since 1976. At the Pier and throughout her life, her love extended beyond her immediate family; she had an extraordinary ability to touch the lives of everyone she met. Her genuine kindness and willingness to help others knew no bounds, and she was a source of comfort and support to countless individuals.

Throughout her life's journey, her faith in God was unwavering. She found strength, guidance, and solace in her spiritual beliefs, which served as a foundation of her character and actions. Her legacy of love, kindness, forgiveness, and faith will forever be cherished.

Georgette is survived by her three sons: George P. Abdulla and his wife Elizabeth, of Salem, NH; John D. Abdulla and his wife Diane of Gloucester, MA; Paul J. Abdulla and his wife Erin of Methuen, MA: six grandchildren, Anthony Abdulla and his wife Samantha, John Abdulla and his wife Bethany, Colleen Abdulla and her spouse Kristin, Jacqueline Abdulla and her partner Kevin, Cassandra Abdulla, and Kristen Abdulla: 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Georgette was predeceased by her sisters, Sally and Anne Khoury, and brother George Khoury.

 Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday July 27, 2023 from 9 am to 10:30 am at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated later that morning at 11:00AM at Saint Monica Parish 212 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen.
