George Levine passed away on September 12, 2024 at age 82 from post-surgery complications after a fall. He was born in Cambridge, MA, lived much of his youth in Woburn, raised a family with his wife Susan (Hurton) Levine in Wakefield, and enjoyed some of his retirement years in Maine where he loved having a big barn to store his collectibles and work on projects.
George worked as a mechanical engineer at Boston Edison and often worked overtime to provide a good life for his family. He enjoyed family get togethers, racing homing pigeons, having pets, riding a motorcycle, investing in the stock market, collecting cans and scrap metal, fixing things, quiet time in the backyard watching the birds, and going for walks.
George is survived by his children; daughter Cathy and her husband Bob Kneeland, Jr of Lawrence, daughter Ellen Levine of Rockport, and son Jim Levine of Candia, NH as well as three grandchildren, Alyssa Levine, Eric Levine and Korina Routt. He also leaves behind his brother William and his wife June Levine, sister-in-law Mary Levine, plus many in-laws from the Hurton family and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Susan and his brother Robert Levine.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at Fairways at Woburn Country Club, 5 Country Club Road in Woburn, MA on Monday, September 30 from 11am to 2pm.
