Gabriel A. “Burt” Raymond, formerly of Lawrence, MA., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16 at Westford House, Westford Ma. He was born August 28, 1947, in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Herve and Clemence (Levesque) Raymond.
“Burt” as he was known by family and friends, moved to the Methuen area from Canada in 1969 and remained there all his life.
He worked for many years as an Iron worker and various construction trades.
He was a member of the French Social Club for many years, always enjoying a game of pool or a card game of 45’s. He loved anything Chevrolet as well as watching NASCAR races with his favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed watching the Montreal Canadiens hockey games as well as any team who was beating the Bruins. He loved taking rides, whether to the beach or just cruising around.
His family members include his lifelong partner and friend Phyllis (Guimond) Raymond of Newburyport MA; two sons, Michael Raymond, and his wife April of Haverhill, MA., Kevin Raymond of Nashua, NH; One daughter, Amy Raymond and her partner Geoffrey Murphy who was like a son-in-law to Gabriel of Newton, NH; two grandsons, Joseph and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brothers Gaston Raymond and his wife Jocelyn of Hudson, NH., Gerard Raymond, Jacques Raymond; sisters, Nicole Therriault , Monique Grandmaison and Yolande Craig, all of Canada; his devoted caretaker, Dominga Guerrero as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Gabriel was predeceased by his sister, Solange Morin; brothers Jean-Guy Raymond, Clement Raymond, Paul Raymond, and his favorite four-legged companion, Sasha Raymond.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday April 21, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday April 22 at 11:00 am in St Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA.
