Francis John Heymans, 81, of Methuen Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Frank graduated from Central Catholic High School and then served overseas in the army as an electrical technician for four years. Francis was proud of his Irish roots and was an active member of the Arlington Club in Lawrence.
Frank started his career at Raytheon as a technician while also attending college at night and achieving a degree in electrical engineering from Lowell Technical University. He later went on to earn a Master’s in Business from Northeastern University. Most of his professional career was spent at Computer Vision in Bedford, Massachusetts where he worked his way from electrical technician to plant manager. Frank was loved by his coworkers and many of them became life-long friends.
Frank will be remembered for his quiet, loving and gentle personality. He enjoyed attending mass every day at St. Monica’s Church, working on home improvement projects, enjoyed classic cars and Corvettes, and visiting the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
He was a dedicated husband to his wife Rose Heymans for over 59 years. Friends and family would always want “Frank & Rose” to be part of their life celebrations because of the love and energy they brought together. Frank’s bright blue eyes, quiet smile, and loving demeanor was infectious and touched everyone who knew him.
Frank was the proud father of two boys: James Dennis Heymans of Hyde Park, Massachusetts and John Francis Heymans of Hampstead, New Hampshire. There was nothing more in life he enjoyed than spending time with his boys. He was well loved by his grandchildren Elysha McMahon of Bradford, Massachusetts and Evan Heymans of Salem New Hampshire and his great grandchildren Zachary and Connor. His nieces, nephews and God Children loved him like a Father. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people who came to know and love him over the years.
The family is asking for Francis to be remembered in your prayers and mass intentions. Donations can be made in his name to Hospice Services of Massachusetts. A funeral Mass was held privately at St. Monica's Church in Methuen. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, Methuen.
