Eugeniusz “Genek” Zoltko of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home on December 7, 2024 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his parents Jan and Adela, and stepfather Antoni, all of Poland, as well as brother Kazimierz and sisters Marianna and Janina.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Anna (Cherubin) Zoltko and children Ela Poulin and husband Keith of Salem, NH, Mark Zoltko and wife Sarah of Wakefield, MA, Michael Zoltko and wife Diana of Brookline, NH and youngest daughter Jennifer Zoltko and fiance Michael Berryman of Methuen, MA. Genek was also the cherished Dziadzi of seven grandchildren: Kyle, Noah and Emersen Poulin, Anya and Nadia Zoltko and Mackenzie and Jared Lindquist. He is also survived by in-laws Michael and Olympia Cherubin and Jadwiga and Gene Kaczowka as well as many nieces and nephews in the United States and Poland.
Genek was born in Poland on January 1, 1936. He later served in the Polish military before immigrating to Lawrence, MA in 1964. He worked a number of years as a machinist and as a carpenter, eventually retiring from Crown, Cork & Seal Company in 2001 after 26 years.
Genek loved spending time with his family, especially dancing at one of the many events he attended at the Stopyra Post with his wife, Anna. He enjoyed a good game of 45’s, watching the classic oldies, many different game shows and professional wrestling on television and he loved listening to polka music. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
We are forever grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at All Care VNA Hospice & Home Care Services, especially his two aides Jenny and Celeni.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday December 15, 2024 from 2pm to 4 pm at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday December 16 at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Shrine,24 Common Street Lawrence, MA Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Shrine or All Care Hospice and Home Care.
