Elaine B Niejadlik

Elaine B. Niejadlik, 91 , of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Cedar View Nursing Center in Methuen, with her family at her side.

The daughter of the late Bronislaw and Blanche (Banas) Niejadlik, Elaine was born in Lawrence on August 28, 1931.  She received her primary and secondary education at the Beverly School for the Deaf, graduating from there.  As a result of a childhood illness, Elaine became deaf as a child.  Despite this handicap, she was always loving and happy and won over the hearts of everyone who knew her.  She was employed as a stitcher for shoe companies in the Lawrence-Haverhill area, from where she retired.  She was an active member of the former Holy Trinity Church in Lawrence, where she attended most events.  She loved to do jigsaw puzzles and taking care of family pets, and especially attending family events.

Predeceased by her parents, Bronislaw and Blanche, her brothers, Walter Niejadlik and Edwin Niejadlik, her sister, Esther Castrios, with whom she resided for many years, Elaine is survived by her niece/caregiver, Julie A. Greco and her husband Luigi “Gino” of Methuen; nieces, Elizabeth Niejadlik and Mary Osborne; a nephew, Michael Castrios, and many grand and great grandnieces and nephews.  She is also survived by cousins, Maureen and Bob Haidaichuk and Paula Rickard.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, January12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Monica’s Church, Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA.  Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
