Edward Barrett Obituary

Edward Patrick Barrett, formerly of Andover, Massachusetts, son of Gilbert and Lucille Barrett, both deceased, passed away in Clearwater, Florida on Sunday, December 19th, 2021, from complications from a fall earlier in the week.  

Ed was raised in Andover, and moved to Florida in 2017.  He was a graduate of Merrimack College, in North Andover, Massachusetts and was a substitute teacher in the Andover, MA, School System for a period of time.  He later moved into providing advocacy for senior citizens and received several awards for this work. Edward was actively engaged in numerous community groups and was generous with his contributions and skills. 

He is survived by his sister, Carole Barrett in Bismarck, North Dakota, his brother Gilbert Barrett and his wife Debbie, in Largo, Florida, and his brother William, and his wife, Anne, in Lexington, Kentucky.  Ed is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews around the country.

Ed was kind, caring and very giving.  He will be deeply missed by his family and his many acquaintances. May his memory be a blessing.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thursday January 13, 2022 at 10:00 am at Spring Grove Cemetery,5 Spring Grove Road, Andover, MA 01810.
