Doris M. Lavoie

Doris Marie Lavoie, 78, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. She was born March 2, 1942, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Robert E. Lavoie and Dora (Corriveau) Lavoie. Ms. Lavoie was a 19­­59 graduate of Sacred Heart School and attended the Macintosh Business School in Lawrence. Doris worked for the Federal Government from 1960 to 1996. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert C. Lavoie, Sr.

Doris is survived by her sister-in-law, Marion (Donovan) Lavoie; her nieces and nephews, Mary Lovely and her husband, John, of Fremont, NH, Robert C. Lavoie, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, OH, Karen Lavoie, of Andover, MA, Denise Lazdowski and her husband, Eric, of Wildwood, FL, and Jean Lavoie and her husband, Steven Aiken, of Tampa, FL; her great nieces and nephews, Nicholas Lavoie, Claire Lavoie, Madison Lovely, Emmaline Lavoie, Tyler Lovely and Sarah Lazdowski; and many cousins.

 Doris loved reading, swimming at the YMCA, spending time at Salisbury beach and dining out with family and friends. The Lavoie family wishes to extend a special thank you to the various caregivers in the medical community for their compassionate care of Doris during her illnesses. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday August 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.  Arrangements are by the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway,  Methuen.
