Donna L. Brown – Haverhill, MA
The family of Donna Brown is saddened to announce her peaceful passing at the young age of 69. Despite her special needs, Donna led a full life, surrounded by many friends, a supportive and loving family and compassionate caregivers.
Raised in Lawrence, Donna was a kind -hearted person who loved animals, Chrisitan music and Boston sports teams-her favorite was the Boston Red Sox. Donna loved to help out and anyone would tell you that they could count on her to pitch in every time. She spent many years active in various out each activities for the Salvation Army and was proud to share the gospel with anyone at any time. Her faith ran deep.
Donna worked for the IRS for many years and following retirement, she spent time at Camp Wonderland, Easter Seals, and the Moore Center. Her family notes that Donna loved going to Camp Allan, a non-profit camp for adults with different abilities. Donna would make new friends each summer, take day trips to the beach, go out for ice cream and make hundreds of crafts. The care and support from the staff helped Donna be her best self.
She adored her nieces and nephews and she always seemed to have a camera in her hands. The family will have a grand time sorting through the hundreds of photos accumulated over the years.
Donna is pre-deceased by her loving parents, Harold and Marjorie, and her much beloved brother Scott. She leaves behind Carol and Dee, Leslie and Ted, Dave and Lisa, Bev, Debbie and Linda, as well as several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. There will be a private family gathering to mark Donna’s departure. For those so inclined, in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Donna’s name, to Camp Allan, 56 Camp Road, Bedford, NH 03110.
Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 is entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com to sign the online guest book.
