Donald H. Donahue – Lawrence, MA
Donald H. Donahue, age 89, passed away on March 4th, 2022 at Holy Family Hospital, with his family by his side. Don was born on November 28, 1932 in Lawrence, MA. He was the son of the late, Mortimer and Dorothy (Hall) Donahue. Don graduated from Lawrence High School in 1950. He enlisted in the United States Navy in October of 1951. He served during the Korean War with the Fighting Seabees and was honorably discharged in 1954. Don worked for the United Parcel Service, “UPS” for over 30 years. He was a proud member of Teamsters, Local 25.
He was the husband of Constance (Bradish) Donahue, of Lawrence. They shared sixty years of marriage together.
Don’s hobbies included collecting many things, such as vintage beer cans and bottles. He was very proud of his massive beer stein collection. Don enjoyed camping, traveling, visiting the beach, and spending time with family. He was a big sports fan of all the local teams, especially the Boston Bruins and the Boston Red Sox. He loved visiting Foxwoods Casino and Las Vegas, Nevada. Don was an animal lover who donated to many local charities over the years.
Don is survived by his sons, Robert A. Donahue, of Lawrence; Edward D. Donahue and his wife Gena, of Roanoke, VA.; and daughter Kathleen and her husband Michael J. Mulligan Jr., of Methuen, MA. Grandpa Don will be remembered by his four grandchildren: Caitlin, Brenna, and Benjamin, of Roanoke, VA., and Michael III, of Methuen, MA. He is preceded by his wife, Constance (Bradish) Donahue, of Lawrence, MA and his brother Mortimer J. Donahue, of The Villages in Florida.
Calling hours are Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 4 – 8 PM at Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Brodway, Methuen, MA 01844. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA 01843. Burial with U.S. Navy Military Honors will follow the Funeral Mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Waverly Road in North Andover.
