Donald Corcoran Obituary

Donald F Corcoran of Methuen, MA passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 following a short illness.  He was the son of the late Fred and Josephine (Connors) Corcoran of Methuen.  Donald was predeceased by his wife Phyllis (Whalen) whom he shared marriage with for over 60 years.  

Donald was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Private in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan.  

Don was a truck driver for the Teamsters for over 40 years.  His last position prior to retirement was at Yellow Freight Carriers.  After a long day driving he always came home to his wife and 3 children.   Donald worked hard to bring up his 3 children. 

His hobbies include taking long drives to Myrtle Beach and Florida with Phyllis, was a regular walker at the Mall for over 40 years and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan always enjoying a “cool one” while watching the game.   He most importantly enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Donald is survived by his three children Sharon L. Leone of Pembroke Pines, Florida, son Scott and wife Jo-Anne (Giuffrida) of Methuen and Robin Caisse of Fall River, MA, as well as his 5 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition, his sister Beverly Fox, wife of John Fox of Georgia.   Donald was also predeceased by his brother William Corcoran and William’s wife Helen.  

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to the Methuen MSPCA or St. Jude’s Hospital.
