Donald Choquette Obituary

Donald Choquette – Methuen, MA

Donald Choquette, 90, of Methuen, passed away on November 27, 2022.

Donald grew up in Methuen on a farm, where he discovered his love for horses and dogs at an early age. He was a proud Veteran of the Marine Corps, sharing pictures and stories of his experiences in the Korean War with his family. Following his discharge, he went on to marry the love of his life, Diana and had six children. He held various jobs throughout the years, eventually retiring from the Laborers' Local 175 of Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Donald was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Affectionally known as Papa, he was on the sidelines supporting his grandchildren in their sporting events as often as he could. He was the patriarch of the family and will be missed by family and friends for many years to come.

Donald loved the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed long drives through coastal New England and knew every local backroad, enjoying leisure drives with his wife until his passing. He was a huge fan of Judge Judy, appreciating her no-nonsense attitude and spirit. He was a talented cook, waking up in the early hours of Christmas morning to make his famous haddock and homemade French Fries, a family tradition which will be missed greatly.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Diana of Methuen; sister, Carol Newton of Methuen; daughter’s Donna Jankowski of Cape Coral, Florida, Diane, wife of Ronald Vigneault of Kingman, Arizona, Debra Choquette of Lawrence, Darlene, wife of William Collins of Sandown, New Hampshire; grandchildren Adam Jankowski and wife Caroline, Amanda Sanzo, Ross Vigneault, Jameson Collins and wife Emily, Tanyka Choquette, Joseph Choquette, and Allison Collins; great-grandchildren Owen Sanzo and Cole Jankowski, and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Lillian Choquette; brother, Warren Choquette; sister, Shirley Choquette; children, Denise and Donald Choquette; Daughter in-law, Theresa Choquette; son in-law, Thomas Jankowski.

Honoring Donald’s wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
