David C. Saba Sr. passed away suddenly at Mass General Hospital in Boston on Saturday January 2, 2021. David was born in Lawrence Mass on September 15, 1948 to the late Edward  and Eva (Assad) Saba.  He was a 1965 graduate of Central Catholic High School. After attending Northern Essex Community College, he received his master’s degree in Education Administration from Lowell University. He later received a master’s degree from Salem State College. As he attended college, he worked at his mother’s sub shop GiGi’s, in Lawrence beside his siblings, making many lasting relationships and memories. He was a teacher at the Albert B. Consentino School of Haverhill for 33 years. He loved teaching and his students so much. He maintained contact with many of them and developed life-long friendships. He taught Sunday school at St. Joseph’s Melekite Church years ago. For many years he also owned and operated Pizza Chef in Lawrence Mass.

He was best known for always being so genuinely engaging, warm, funny, sweet and loving. Making a lasting impression on people even if he had just met them. He had the ability to connect with people as if he had known them all their lives. He loved his home in North Andover, always taking care of every little detail of the property. He was will be remembered for his love of being outdoors. He grew more in the garden than he could ever eat. He took great pleasure in giving his vegetables and herbs to his friends and family.

His family members include his beloved wife Laurie, his children, David Saba ,Jr of New York, Joseph Saba of Andover, Danielle Taylor and her husband Giacomo Marchese of Haverhill, Shannon Taylor of Methuen, William Taylor of Haverhill, Grandchildren, Dylan May and his fiancée Micaela Kirk, and Ashley May of Vermont, Daisy and Desmond Taylor-Mooradian of Methuen. He also leaves behind  his siblings Daniel Saba and his wife Cynthia of Methuen, Everett Boyle-Steed and his wife Patricia of Amesbury  and his many nieces and nephews who he loved so much.  David was predeceased by his daughter  Kelly May and his sister Georgianna  Saba.

He was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and mentor. His passing will leave us all diminished. He was always abundant with his kindness. He had a gift of helping people in his humble way, spreading joy, hope, council and love. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
