Daniel R. Esty

Daniel Raymond Esty, 81 passed away on March 4, 2019 at his home after a period of declining health. He grew up in Lawrence Mass. He is the son of the late Raymond Esty and Mary (Amarald) Esty. He graduated from Central Catholic with the class of 1955 and greatly enjoyed being a member of the basketball team and alumni association. Daniel proudly served in the Coast Guard from 1955 to 1959 on the ship the Bibb. Dan worked as an engineer at the Andover branch of Raytheon. He happily retired after many years to enjoy his many hobbies.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Danvers Gun Club. He filled many winter nights tying his own fishing fly creations. He enjoyed training his hunting dogs and traveling for outdoor adventures. He spent many happy years summering at Alton Bay, NH always looking for the best fishing spots.

He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Patricia (Moher) Esty and his 2 daughters, Cheryle Zurwell and husband Mark Zurwell and Dana Pequignot and husband Tim Pequignot. The 7 grandchildren he was so proud of, Amanda, Jonathan ,Kristopher, Alicia, Cassidy, Madison and Jessica. He also leaves 2 beloved cousins Ronald Bourgault and Kenneth Mullins.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday March 16, 2019 from 10am to Noon at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
