Dale Leroy Clawson – Meredith, NH

Dale Leroy Clawson, a man of many trades- a Vietnam Veteran and resident of Meredith, NH, passed on December 10, 2023, at the age of 76, surrounded by family at his family’s home in Londonderry, NH.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Deborah A. Brooks; son-in-law, Richard Brooks; his grandchildren, Richard D. Brooks and Raquel D. Leafe; and grandson-in-law Alex D. Leafe. He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy A. Clawson; mother, Mona Clawson; father, Dale Lawrence Clawson; and his sisters, Beatrice and Madelyn.

Dale grew up in Indiana and was involved in agriculture. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1971 as a corporal during the Vietnam War. He received recognition for his service- the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation. Dale worked in many trades and retired from Pepsi in 2006. He had accomplished a lot in his lifetime. Still, he stated his most significant accomplishment was his family- wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Dale was involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars community and the American Legion, serving as a board member for quite some time. You could often find Dale at a cigar shop with his fellow marines, haggling for a flea market deal or listening to country music outside.

A burial with a Military Honors will be held on December 13, 2023, at 11:00AM at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, North Lowell Street (Rt. 113 across from Elmwood Cemetery) in Methuen, MA.
