Cortland Richard Posluszny - Lawrence, MA
In the early morning of October 29, 2024 Cort passed away in his home. Cort was born on November 8, 1934 to Camille and Charles Cunio and was raised by his mother and Frank Posluszny. Cort was the devoted, adoring husband of the late Ann Lee Posluszny and lived out his life in Lawrence, Massachusetts. They met while he was stationed at the entrance of a Massachusetts Army Base. He saw her drive by with her best friend and whistled to her to come back. She did turn around. He jumped onto the hood of her car and asked them both to go on a double date. After the date he returned to base and told his superior that he'd met the girl he was going to marry. 7 months later they were married and were happily married for the next 67 years until Ann's passing. It was a lifelong love.
He leaves behind his four children Debra Bletzer , Michael Posluszny , Cheryl Ingalls, Sharon Brokate, two daughters-in-law Cindy Posluszny and Tammy Steele, 13 grandchildren Marcus, Nikki, Ruth, Steven, Tiffany, Gina, Christine, Amanda, Nicole, Kevin, Jared, Cody, and Joshua and 10 great grandchildren Kirra, Ryleigh, Maci, Scott, Evelyn, Winter, Violet, Blaze, Archer, and Cash whom they loved and celebrated together and his brother Frank Posluszny and sister Susan Poole. He was predeceased by his wife Ann, son Kevin Steele, brother Joseph Posluszny and sister Ruth McMahon.
He loved spending time with his family as well as loved working on genealogy. Cort was a longtime active member of the John Hancock Masonic Lodge holding various positions including Master and Treasurer until his death. He was also an active member of First Calvary Baptist Church of North Andover where he was considered a "pillar of the church community" as one member described him. Cort also was the owner of Alarm Contracting Enterprises offering fire, burglary and sprinkler services. His philosophy of "If I'm going to do the work, then I will do it right the first time and guarantee that work" was very appreciated by his customers building a loyal, lasting relationship with them until he retired at 70 years old.
Cort is missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him and his family will always know that "Papa" loved all his children and grandchildren.
