Claire F. Rischer

Claire F. (Doran) Rischer passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the age of 94. Claire was born in Lawrence on September 4, 1927 to the late James and Anna (Witzgall) Doran. She was a graduate of Johnson High School in North Andover and Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing.

Claire and her husband Raymond started Raymond’s Turkey Farm, Methuen, MA in 1950. Claire and Ray with their hard work and determination grew the business over the years to what it has become today.

Claire enjoyed spending time with her family at their cottage on Cobbetts Pond in Windham, NH and at the beach in Maine.

Claire leaves behind her son R. James Rischer and wife Patricia of Methuen. Grandchildren Vickie Rischer, Jamie Rischer, Kimberly Ellis and Joshua Fitzgerald. Great Grandchildren Christopher, Devyn, Aryana, Rianne, Alex, Levi and Brooke. Sisters Mary Lou Faucher and Patricia Vynorious, brother Daniel Doran, her dear niece Carol Ann and many nieces and nephews.

Claire was predeceased by her husband Raymond L. Rischer, daughter Leslie R. Crook, second husband John P. Ford, sisters Ann Seubert, Jane Martin and brother James Doran.

The family would like to thank everyone at Greystone Farm and Compassus Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Claire.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA at a later date. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
