Christine M. (Mulford) Leoncyk, 72, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport.
The daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Paul) Mulford, Christine was born in Roselyn, New York on November 7, 1947. She was educated in area schools, and was a graduate of Presentation of Mary High School in Methuen. She also attended Lowell State Teachers College, now U-MASS, Lowell. She was employed for many years at Western Electric, AT&T, in North Andover, where she was an assembler and later an inspector, from where she retired. She was also a union steward for the CWA Union at AT&T. Christine was a longtime resident of Salem, NH. Along with her late mother, she was active at the former Holy Trinity Church in Lawrence.
Christine had a great love for animals, and enjoyed doing things around her home.
Christine is survived by her husband of 31 years, Francis W. Leoncyk of Salem, NH; her sons, Gary Smith of Wisconsin and David Smith of South Carolina; a step-son and his wife, Frank and Christine Leoncyk of Northwood, NH; a step-daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Kyle Harris of Salem, NH; several grandchildren and step grandchildren. Christine was predeceased by her sister, Nancy.
Christine’s family sincerely thanks the staffs of the Maplewood Center in Amesbury and Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport for the outstanding and dedicated care Christine received when she was at both facilities.
Due to the COVID-19 national health emergency, Christine’s Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Christine’s Memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
