Cheryll A. Zalanskas, 64, of Londonderry, NH passed away on April 29, 2024 following a courageous battle with cancer at home surrounded by her loving family.
Cheryll was born on June 28, 1959 in Methuen, MA to her parents, Peter J. Zalanskas Sr. and Juliana (Arcand) Zalanskas
Cheryll grew up in the Tower Hill section of Lawrence where she attended and graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy with the class of 1977. She attended Northern Essex Community College and received her Medical Billing/Coding Certification from Seacoast Career School.
Over the years, Cheryll worked at several places including General Electric, PictureTel, Easter Seals and most recently, Visiting Angels. Other times, she spent caring for her niece and nephew and her grandchildren. This attributes to her caring personality and always putting others first.
Cheryll always made people feel welcomed and wanting to help others. Cheryll loved to spend time planning and hosting celebrations and events. Most recently Cheryll and her mom planned a 100+ family reunion at Christmas time. She always enjoyed going to the beach, camping, baking, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. When the end was near, she continued to find strength to visit with family and friends and play her favorite card game, 45’s.
Cheryll was predeceased by her father, Peter Zalanskas, Sr.
Cheryll is survived by her mother, Juliana (Arcand) Zalanskas of Londonderry, NH, her son, Michael Gebala and his wife Amelia of Spring Hill, FL, daughter, Jennifer Gebala of Londonderry, NH, son Christopher Gebala and his wife Taylor of Manchester, NH. and her stepdaughters, Heather Walz and Hillary Walz. She also leaves her grandchildren who meant the world to her, Emily Gebala, Ryan Gebala, Gabriel Gebala, Peter Gebala, Julian Gebala, Anthony Gebala and Gianna Gebala.She is also survived by her brother Peter Zalanskas, Jr. and his partner Maria Varni of Ossipee, NH, brothers Gregory Zalanskas and his wife Laura of Andover, MA and Jeffrey Zalanskas and his wife Hanna of Lexington, SC. as well as several nieces and a nephew. Cheryll also leaves her best friend since the 4th grade “sister” Charlene Champagne. She was always an amazing friend/support for Cheryll over the years.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am on Tuesday in St Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA. Entombment will follow at St Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum,55 Hideaway Lane, Methuen, MA. Lawrence.
