Charles Anthony Messina of Salisbury, MA, passed away on August 27th at age 77. More commonly known as Chuck, he was born in Lawrence on October 23, 1944 to the late Joseph and Mary (Petralia) Messina.
Chuck was a hardworking and dedicated man, formerly owning and operating Pleasant Valley Ceramics, and working the night shift at Home Depot for over 25 years before retiring. Chuck enjoyed walking on the beach, playing cards, volunteering in his community, and spending time with his family. He was a beloved father, husband, and Nano, and he made an immeasurable impact on countless lives in his time on Earth. They say that without rain, there would be no flowers, and this amazing man came home with a bouquet for his wife every week. He will live on in the memories of the friends, neighbors, and family he touched, and although he will be greatly missed, he will never be forgotten.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lauren Angela Messina, and his siblings: Vincent Messina and wife Jackie, Richard Messina and wife Cathrine, Michael Messina and wife Cathy, and Joyce Desmet and husband John. He is also survived by his children Michael Messina and wife Loriann, and Lauren Messina-Doersam and husband Joel Doersam, as well as his five grandchildren, Michael, Marc, Mathieu, Alexandria, and Angela.
His family will be holding a public wake at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway in Methuen, MA on Wednesday, August 31st from 5-7pm.
