Carolyn Elizabeth (Nelson) Gill – Methuen, MA

Carolyn Elizabeth (Nelson) Gill 01/26/1927 - 04/03/2026 Carolyn was born in the family’s Methuen home on January 26,1927 to Carroll D. and F. Hilda (Harvey) Nelson. She was educated in the Methuen schools and graduated in 1944 from Edward F. Searles High School.

Carolyn was married to her high school sweetheart Ellis for 66 years before his passing in 2014. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey E. And wife Claire of East Hampstead, NH and Dwayne E. And wife Ann of Raymond, NH. Grandchildren: Stephen Gill and wife Cindy, Crystal Perreault and husband Tim, Samatha Gill and Alyson Gill and partner Charlie. Five great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Clifford and wife Virginia Nelson, Donald and wife Dorothy and Warren and wife Olive. Sister Bernice and husband Donald Moore.

Carolyn was a member of First Church Congregational for over 50 years and served on many boards. A former member of sixteen years for the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the Menomack District Award of Merit in 1979. She also volunteered for over 16 years to the Neighbors in Need.

The family wishes to thank the Letendre family for their care and support over the years.

There are no visiting hours. A private Commital service for immediate family will take place for both Carolyn and Ellis in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
