Carolyn Alses

Carolyn M. (Slauter) Alses, 87 of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Born and raised in Lawrence, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Kurzlotsky) Slauter, Carolyn was a graduate of Lawrence High School.  Carolyn spent her working years performing various jobs including building cables and harnesses for the defense industry, bartending at the Fireside Restaurant & Lounge in Methuen, making yogurt at the former Columbo Yogurt, and as an Associate at Target in Salem, NH.  She recently retired from NRT Bus at the age of 86.  She was also involved in many activities at the Methuen VFW in past years.

Carolyn was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon (Copley) Stevens, siblings John Slauter, George Slauter and Eleanor Karcz.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Copley and his wife Roanne of Windham, NH and David Copley and his partner Diane Beland of Methuen, MA; grandchildren, Kaelee (Copley) Howanski and her husband Joseph, Christine (Copley)Dabiew and her husband Joshua, and Andrew Copley and his fiancée Alyson Lavery; great-grandchildren, Kora and Joseph Jr.(JJ); sibling, James Slauter; and sister-in-law, Joanna Slauter.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Dewhirst Boles Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  Services will be private at the request of the family.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made in memory of Carolyn Alses at: Wounded Warrior Project, 877-832-6997 (Monday through Friday 9AM – 7PM) or www.woundedwarriorproject.org
