Arthur R. Lavoie, 86 of Newton, NH passed away on Friday March 6, 2020. Mr. Lavoie was born in Haverhill, MA on August 24, 1933 the son of Romeo and Delia (Garand) Lavoie. He graduated from Newburyport High School and Newburyport Vocational School with the class of 1952. After high school, Arthur (Roger) proudly joined The US Army and served in Korea, Pennsylvania, USA, Germany, and France and returned in 1956. He began working at the Worcester Taper Pin Co in Worcester, MA as a machine operator then left to begin his long and successful 35 year career at Raytheon Co in Andover. He retired in 1992 as a section manager.

 Arthur (Roger) met his wife Jeannine at the Commodore Ballroom in Lowell, MA and they married in 1960. They enjoyed travelling through the national parks, Monaco, France, sailing in the Caribbean, camping, horse racing, casinos, and trips to Canada. He also enjoyed scuba diving, flying with friends, and working on his old cars.

Besides his parents, Arthur (Roger) was predeceased by his sister Rita (Lavoie) Sevigny. His family members include his wife of 60 years Jeannine P. (Berube) Lavoie and his daughters Michelle Dube and her husband Dion and Lisa Sullivan and her husband Gerry, as well as his grandchildren Amy Penniman, Breanna Corcoran, Carolyn Corcoran, Steven Dube, and Michael Dube. He also leaves his great grandchildren Tyler, Victoria, Emma, Nico, Madison, and Charlie, and his siblings Patricia (Lavoie) Cook and Romaine Lavoie.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday March 12, 2020 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 13 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
