Anna Pathiakis Obituary

Anna Louisa (D’Amico) Pathiakis formerly of Andover and Haverhill, MA passed away peacefully on December 10, 2020 at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center.

Born June 21, 1931 in East Boston, MA, Anna was the youngest daughter of Antonio and Antonetta (Antonioli) D’Amico.

Anna graduated from East Boston High School and in her early years, worked at the New England Newsclip Agency in Boston. She married Nickolas (Nick) Pathiakis (after an epic romance; a story she often told and someday wanted to write about) and raised their children in Somerville, Boston and Andover, MA.

Anna and Nick loved to travel. That love of travel led Anna to a later-life career as a travel agent which provided the opportunity to take many familiarization (“fam”) cruises and countless visits to Aruba and Las Vegas. Upon retirement, they moved to Henderson, NV where they resided for 11 years before returning to the Merrimack Valley to be close to their children.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Nickolas; her sisters Mary Cerullo; Adele D’Amico; Josephine Cuillo; Eda Cottone; and her brother Carmen D’Amico.

Anna’s greatest love was her family. She will be sadly missed by her five sons, John and his wife Nancy of Haverhill, MA; David and his wife Denise of Derry, NH; Nickolas Jr. and his wife Erin of Rangeley, ME; Paul of Uxbridge, MA; and James of Merrimack, NH.

She’ll also be missed by her grandchildren Gregory of Bradford, MA; Kevin of Salem, NH; Andrea of Norco, CA; Chelsea of New York City; Carina of Rangeley, ME and Jared of Uxbridge, MA, great-grandchildren Hunter and Henry of Rangeley, ME, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, caregivers and staff at Element Care and Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center for the incredible care and support provided to our mom. You were of great comfort to her and all of us.

In this time of COVID, the family is planning a private service. Anna will be interred with her husband at the Veteran’s section of Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill, MA. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital StJude.org or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are by the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. To leave an online condolence, please visit Anna’s tribute page at www.dewhirstbolesfuneral.com
