Anita was the daughter of the late Donald A. and Eileen (Ashe) Watson. She is survived by her loving sister Dorothy A. Watson, many dear friends, and a very special friend, Debbie Brown.

Anita was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She began her career in banking where she spent forty-four years with Broadway Savings Bank, which later became known as First Essex Savings Bank. She served in many capacities in lending as a manager, executive assistant and assistant treasurer. Anita was a former member of the Savings Bank Women’s Association of Massachusetts.

Anita was formerly an active member of United Riverside Congregational Church in Lawrence, MA where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir, and filled the role of church secretary. She also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for fifteen years and organist and choir director for thirteen years. Anita later became a member of First Church Congregational in Methuen, MA.

She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. Her father was remembered as saying he didn’t have a son but he had a baseball pal.

Anita’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice, 360 Senior Home Services and SYNERGY Home Care for their kindness and compassion in caring for Anita.
