Angel Alberto “Berto” Roman Soto, 64, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Lowell General Hospital-Main Campus in Lowell with his family at his side.
The son of the late Angel Roman and Beridiana Soto, Angel was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on October 18, 1956. He was the 8th child of a family of 11 children. Educated in Puerto Rico, he came to the United States and was employed as a presser in the dry cleaning industry. Later, he returned to Puerto Rico, and owned and operated his own dry cleaning business in 2004. He returned to the Greater Lawrence area around 2010, and was employed as a presser for several area dry cleaning establishments. He currently resided in Methuen. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, automobiles, music, and electronic technology. He enjoyed “tinkering” with many things.
“Berto” is survived by his sisters, Monsita Roman, Elvira Batistine, Laura Andujar, Milagros Roman, Maritza Roman, Miriam Roma, and Silvia Quiles, a niece who was like a sister; brothers, Rafael Roman and Carlos Roman, and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
“Berto” was predeceased by his sisters, Carmen Roman and Susana Roman.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A Funeral Service will take place Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrence.
