Anestis Tzokos - Andover, MA
Anestis Tzokos, 3/23/42–11/11/25, born in the village of Milia, Greece, lived a life full of heart, hard work, and devotion to his family. Growing up in Greece, he carried with him the traditions, values, and strength of his homeland throughout his entire life.
It was in Greece that he met the love of his life, Sofia, from the neighboring village of Galatades. Their love story was one of true devotion—Anestis would walk 23 miles just to spend the day with her. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sofia, whom he cherished deeply.
He was also predeceased by his parents, George and Evagelia (Voksou) Tzokos; his brothers Anastasios and Basilios; and his sisters Asimula and Elisabeth.
After moving to the United States, Anestis eventually made his home in Massachusetts, where he raised his family and built a life rooted in community, loyalty, and hard work. A skilled carpenter and self-employed business owner, Anestis loved working with his hands and took great pride in everything he created. Strong, capable, and generous with his time, he was a true man’s man.
Anestis was blessed with many friends and valued every moment spent with them. When he wasn’t enjoying time with family or friends, he could be found watching sports. He was an avid soccer fan and loved both Greek and American teams, especially the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his three children: Evagelia Tzokos, George Tzokos, and Asimula Kazakides. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Damien Kazakides, and Sophia and Mary Kazakides. Anestis was further blessed with four great-grandchildren—Louis, Melina, Charlie, and Athena—who brought him tremendous joy.
Family was the center of Anestis’s world. He loved spending his days surrounded by those he cared about most. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, generosity, and the love he carried for both his Greek roots and his American home.
A private family service will take place on Friday, November 21, at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, Massachusetts, where Anestis will be laid to rest with dignity and peace.
May his memory be eternal.
