Altagracia L. Perez – Methuen, MA

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and entrepreneur, Altagracia L. Perez passed away, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, resilience, and community. Born in Bani, Dominican Republic, to Manuel Gonzalez Santana and Carmen Gonzalez Perez, she grew up in a close-knit family with her siblings—Jose, Carmen, Maria, Cristina, and Leo Gonzalez. From an early age, she learned the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family.

After earning her associate’s degree, Altagracia embraced life’s many roles with enthusiasm and dedication. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Dante Virgilio Perez, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years until his passing on September 12, 2011. Their journey together took them from the Dominican Republic to South Lawrence, Massachusetts, where they built a life centered on family and community.

Altagracia dedicated 22 years to Western Electric, where she worked as a lab technician at Lucent Technologies before retiring. 

A devout Catholic, she had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, which guided her compassionate spirit and unwavering faith.

Above all, Altagracia’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her six children: Virgilio Jose Perez, Virginia Altagracia Perez, Bill Perez, Virginia Milagros Perez, C. Gabriela Perez Fiato (husband Michael Fiato), and Edward Perez (wife Julia Alexandria Perez), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Christopher Donovan Perez, Kara Perez, Eric Perez, Victoria Perez, Jeffrey Perez, Tabitha Lee Roman ( Benjamin Breton), Nico Perez, Julian Perez, Armani Fiato, Aliana Fiato, Natalia Fiato, Eduardo Gabriel Perez, Cristina Gabriela Perez, William Matthew Perez, Adam Joseph Perez, Alexander James Perez, Sophia Del Carmen Perez 

She is also survived by her nephew Jose Rafael Gonzalez (wife Ive  Gonzalez), and their children Andrew and Annalisse Gonzalez. Altagracia’s joyful spirit was evident in everything she did, whether enjoying a lively game of bingo with friends or trying her luck with the lottery. Her love, strength, and dedication enriched the lives of everyone she encountered.

Altagracia’s life was a testament to her faith, family, and enduring love for others. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion, warmth, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.
