Alice Gloria (Rousseau) Puglisi

Alice Gloria Puglisi, 83, daughter of predeceased Joseph Rousseau and Aurare McCullough, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at Holy Family Hospital. 

Alice was born in Lawrence, MA. She had a very difficult life that was full of struggles, but she always overcame them. She left school after the eighth grade to work and help her parents care for her family, which included four brothers and one sister. She worked hard her entire life, spending half of her working years as a supervisor in various shoe factories, including Stride Rite. This was an uncommon achievement for a woman in those days, but she was very strong-willed. She then worked at ATT (Lucent) at night so that she could care for her family during the day. She loved her family very much.

Alice was a fighter who proved people wrong every time they told her she could not accomplish a task. She was never afraid to stand up for her principles, and if anyone ever needed her, she would always be there, regardless of the reason. She was always the first to give of herself, and one might say she was a jack of all trades. She was intellectually amazing and always had a gut instinct. Her favorite pastime was visiting the casino to play her beloved slot machines. 

She leaves behind: her son Severino Puglisi, and his wife Jacqueline (Leominster, MA), and daughter Francesca Hirtle, and her husband Rich (New Ipswich, NH). She had 9 grandchildren: Giuseppe, Gabriella, Bianca, Mia, Andrew, Luca, Ariana, Sofia (Dex), and Isabella. Her brothers: Joseph, and his wife Carol Rousseau, and Alfred Rousseau, and his wife Joanne, along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Giuseppe Puglisi, with whom she had shared 43 years of marriage, a son Joseph Puglisi, a sister Carol Wermers, and two brothers, Cyril Rousseau and David Rousseau.
