Albert J. Demers, 78, a longtime Methuen resident passed away peacefully on Friday January 7, 2022 at Greystone Farm in Salem, NH with his beloved wife Jeanne by his side.
Al and Jeanne celebrated 52 years of marriage with six children. He was born in Lawrence on August 6, 1943 to the late Alfred J. Demers, Sr. and Yvette (Audy) Demers.
Al served in the United States Air Force. He then attended the University of Massachusetts and earned a degree in Fire Science. Al retired as a Lieutenant on the Methuen Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was everything to him. A fun-loving guy, Al had a smile for everyone he met. After retirement Al and Jeanne loved spending their winters in Florida. He could always be found on the golf course playing with friends. He loved traveling with Jeanne, especially their trips to Alaska, Hawaii, the Canadian Rockies and Germany.
Al was pre-deceased by his loving grandson, Aaron, and we believe he’s now teaching golf to the “Big Guy”.
