Samuel N. Conte, formerly of Methuen, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home in Bradford, Massachusetts on September 30, 2018. Sam was a clerk for the Prudential Insurance Company and moonlighted as a musician playing with the band, “The Rhythmaires” for several years. Sam loved music and played many stringed, brass and woodwind instruments. In his later years, Sam performed as a singer in concerts for the elderly and the public in general. He volunteered his time and talents in educating youth on the fine art of mastering the acoustical guitar. Always positive and gracious, Sam’s friends and family remember him as the person who would give more than he himself possessed to help them through a difficult time. Sam was the epitome of altruism. His heart took on so much of many individual’s woes that it appears that it just wore out.
Sam is survived by his two older sisters, Maria Paccione and Elena Poelaert and her husband, Richard Sean. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Seanna, Richard, Daniel, Meagan, Brendan and eleven great nieces and great nephews who miss him terribly and will always remember him as the man in their lives who modeled the essence of kindness.
A celebration of life is planned at his sister Elena’s home in East Kingston, New Hampshire on June 30, 2019. All of Sam’s friends are graciously welcomed to celebrate him in song, verse or presence. He spoke of all of you in such high regard. Arrangements were by the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
