Rosemary Takesian Martin, 70 of Lawrence passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Prescott House, North Andover following a courageous battle with cancer.  Rosemary was born in Lawrence on June 25, 1947 to the late Richard Takesian and Filomena (Crocco) Takesian.  She worked for 11 years at James & McLeod, CPA firm of Lawrence where she met her beloved husband, William Martin. She later worked as the office manager at Don Kennett Auto Body Supply, Inc. of Lawrence for over 20 years. She was a longtime member of First Calvary Baptist Church, North Andover. Rosemary had a love for all animals and was part of many organizations that protected and rescued endangered species of all kinds.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at her camp on Sunset Lake in Hampstead, NH and also with family members in New York at her cottage on Chazy Lake. 

The widow of William D. Martin, II, her family members include her brothers, Richard Takesian, Jr. of Lawrence and Daniel Takesian of North Andover and his significant other, Kathleen Dreisel of Lawrence. She also leaves her niece, Lori (Takesian) DeBernardo and her husband, Nick of Andover and their children, Jared, James and Nicole and her nephew, Paul D. Takesian and his wife, Heather of North Andover and their sons, Troy and Paul, Jr.  She leaves her cousin, Joyce Curtin of Florida and her close friends, Sue Riley of Epping, NH, Uncle Tom of Hartford, CT as well as many local cousins and very close friends and family in New York.  She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Joan Ellen Takesian. 

Rosemary was an extremely generous person who always gave freely to others and was known for her happy smile and heart of gold.  She will be missed by all that knew her.

The family would like to thank the nurses, aids and hospice staff at the Prescott House for their excellent care, service and support. 

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm and on Monday, July 10 from 9am to 10am at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be on Monday, July 10 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
